The First Of July

George is the main character in one of my favorite movies, Life As A House. He takes control of his life at a time when it seems impossible that anything good can come of the situation. George makes changes that affect him and people close to him. No one can predict what will happen next, no one can know all that lies ahead.

George tries to explain:

"Change can be so constant that you don't even feel a difference until there is one. It can be so slow that you don't know that your life is better or worse until it is...or it can just blow you away and make you something different in an instant."

A person may have control over the change in their life...

Or a person may have no control...

But either way, life will never be the same.

Change, so much of life is this, from one day, one phase, to the next. Rather than resist it, reading George's thought makes me want to initiate some small, good, change, to show myself that I do have the power to bring good change around. What do they say ... goodness begets goodness?

Words to live by.
Can you believe we are already into July?
Change, every moving, change.

Sharon,
My husband and I loved this movie. One of our faves. You are so right that change is inevitable and we really never know down what roads it will take us. And do we accept it graciously or resist? We watching another movie last night you might enjoy. It's in this same vein. We were very moved by it. It's with Luke Wilson. "Henry Poole is Here." Wonderful!

How true. How very, very, very true.

Thank for reminding me of that movie. I'll have to rent it again. Change can be hard, and easy. It is our choice, and one that we learn from each time we try.
