Pemaquid Point

On Saturday Ken and I drove down to Pemaquid Point. We walked down to the rocks to look out at the ocean ~

and back up at the lighthouse, circa 1857 ~
We were going up in the tower for the first time ~

to see the light ~

and the view out to sea ~

Isn't it wonderful that there are endless numbers of adventures awaiting us that we've NEVER done before?

Someone once said it's healthy to ask yourself every now and then...."When was the last time you did something for the first time?"

We probably should be doing something new as often as we can.

Lovely.

I love lighthouses, Sharon, aren't they just magical? That beacon of light to guide sailors home...the thought of it just touches my heart. Glad you had a lovely trip.

Sharon, thanks for sharing your lighthouse pictures. I love lighthouses. I love seeing how each lighthouse is different -- yet similar -- to other lighthouses.

Michigan has a lot of lighthouses, too. The gorgeous picture you took of the fresnel lens reminded me of a similar picture that Ray took at a lighthouse off Lake Huron. If you're interested to compare, here's the link: http://www.cindyscoffeehouse.com/NeoRaysPhotoGalleryTwo.html
