The Pieces Come Together

This quilt is made of squares,
with flowers in the corners from dresses of long ago ~

Squares are sewn into rows ~

And rows into a section ~

That when joined with the others ~

Makes a rainbow that glows in the sun ~

Just exquisite, and to think of the love that goes into each stitch ... artwork, indeed.

It is SO beautiful, Sharon! I knew it would be, but I am so glad you are sharing these photos. It's a work of art, and you should be proud. Lovely.

Oh, WOW! I have a quilt that's around 75 or 80 years old. There are sooo many colors, designs, textures-- so much LIFE displayed in a quilt!!

Thanks for another trip to Maine.

Sharon,
I love the way you tied the making of your beautiful quilt to memories and the rainbow that they make in our hearts as well.

Wow! You showed us pictures while it was a "work in progress"; what a great way to spend a winter's day.

Looking at this also brings back memories of a quilt my maternal grandmother made, using remnants of fabric that included some from dresses my mother made me when I was a wee little girl.
